Something “fishy” is going on.  When I was in Toronto, Amber and I were walking down the street.  I noticed a picket fence with carved wooden fishes at the top of each post.  They were playfully placed in different directions as if they were swimming and splashing about. Each one was painted with soft but bright colors.  At the time, I pointed it out to Amber, I felt like there was another synchronicity, a message directed at me, but couldn’t figure it out, so I just said, “Look Amber, little carved fish, how cute”, and let it go.  We continued to walk to our hotel room where we would soon pull our “Cow Abundance” cards.

Abundance.  I have been hearing this word a lot in the past few years.  Abundance, what does that mean to you?  For me it means living a fulfilling life.  Jesus said, “I came to give life and life more abundantly”.  Spiritual teaching often includes the message of the possibility of living a fulfilling life.  Within religious constructs there is a list of do’s and don’ts that are supposed to help us achieve this life.  I tried that.  I tried it very diligently for a long long time.  It was didn’t work for me.  It actually made me miserable.

Why?

With hindsight, I believe I have found the answer.  I wasn’t being my true authentic self.  I thought I was, but I believe it is almost impossible within that construct to do so.  It was for me.  Within the confines of organized religion, I could not be my authentic self.  I could not even begin to find my true authentic self.  I was busy trying to be what I was told “God wanted me to be”, as a person, as a woman, as a mom, as a sister, as a friend…..not realizing, I was already what Source wanted me to be.  I am.  Within that construct, the Truth of my connection with the Divine was skewed and limited.  I broke free.

I still love Jesus.  He still speaks to me.  He still comes to my side when I need comfort.  He is an Ascended Master with whom I am intimately acquainted.

In recent weeks, I have been meditating on abundance and asking myself; What does it mean to me?  What are my inner desires? What responsibility comes with abundance?  What is the balance of giving and receiving that I am called to live?

As I meditated this morning, I was reminded of the story of Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish.

His friends had been fishing for a long time and had very few fish.  Fish was their livelihood, their provision, their food and their income.  He told them to cast the net to the other side of the boat.  They followed his guidance and caught a miraculous amount of fish.  Like a crazy ridiculous amount of abundance instantly and unexpectedly came to them. As this story came to my mind, the fish fence popped up from my memory, Divine was saying, “abundance, it is all around you, I am speaking”.

Had anything changed?  No.  They were still the same.  In the same boat.  In the same place.  In the same moment.  What changed?  They were aware and listening to Divine guidance.  They chose to try another possibility.  Water is symbolic of creation, of purity, of the universe, and of life itself.  It symbolizes going with the Universal flow. Our reality, the life we live is energetic and part of what some scientist call the Quantum Field.  This field is energetic and it is endless. In all things and through all things. It is full of information and endless possibilities.  Jesus was saying, you are one with the Divine, you are connected to this endless field of possibilities.  Stop doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result.  Follow Divine guidance.  Cast your net elsewhere.  Be aware.  What you are searching for is searching for you.  An abundant and fulfilling life is possible.  It will feel miraculous, powerful, exciting and fulfilling.  It is yours for the taking.  Take it and share.  As you give, you will receive. Be the change you want to see. Be empowered and empower others. Cast your net, abundance is waiting for you….there are enough fish to share.

This is the message of the Universe.
