This cow was waiting for us half a block up from the workshop on Queen Street.
Have you ever felt like you went down the Rabbit Hole? Suddenly, the world is sending signals and giving you signs. Your friends are posting 11:11. You think of someone and they call you at that very moment. You want a coffee and a coworker brings you some Starbucks?
I used to be a skeptic.
To become a massage therapist I studied anatomy and physiology. The body was a beautiful and complex bio-mechanical masterpiece of the Creator. I believed in the Divine, but felt like searching for signs was based in superstition and well wishing until more recently.
After years of doing body work, it became evident to me that we have an energetic body. I decided to become a Reiki Master. Reiki is a Japanese modality of energy healing. Being a Reiki practitioner opened up my world to new experiences and understanding. Down the Rabbit Hole I went….
This past weekend I went to a workshop for entrepreneurs in Toronto Canada. A friend, Amber, had invited me to go to the workshop with her. I immediately felt I was supposed to go and said, “Yes, I am in”. This is not my usual response and it was quickly followed by, financial fear and thoughts of what am I doing!? But, I decided to go and I am so grateful I did. It was life changing.
When we arrived at the workshop on Saturday we were warmly greeted. The atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant, comfortable and safe. They had us write down our archetypes mine were; Healer, Nurturer, Teacher, Sage, Builder, Lover, World Traveler, Visionary.
We then discussed questions and shared with each other as we answered. I shared about my recent divorce and how I am focusing on my business during this season. After this session we all pulled cards from an Oracle card deck. Mine was “Out with the Old, In with the New”. I laughed and said, “yep”. Everyone’s cards confirmed what they had shared. We sat in group awe and then went to lunch.
After lunch we went through our financials. YIKES. I felt a bit discouraged, but proud that I am starting to do all the things I should. Small beginnings, but good beginnings. At the end of this session, we again pulled cards, this time from an Angel Abundance deck. My card was the Savings card. It said, “As you consistently save for your future, your future is saved. You do your future self a big favor as you consistently set aside present funds. This is a part of your self-care and path to feeling secure as you focus upon your life purpose.” As I read the last line I began to tear up. Recently, self care has become a focus for me and I have begun saving. Not having felt secure for the last three years, it hit me deeply and made me feel better. Like I am on the road to recovery. It was a protection card of guidance that was saying “you’ve got this, keep doing the right things”. We continued listening, learning until after 5pm. We walked back to our room discussing how empowering the sessions were. With excitement we discussed what we learned, about the cards being correct and where we wanted to eat. Amber said she had been told that when you go on a weekend like this to pick a theme song for the weekend and to buy a memento for yourself. We both agreed we would do this. We went to Kensington Market, cute quaint hippie part of town with shops and restaurants. We walked around until we decided on a Vietnamese restaurant for dinner. Afterward we explored until we were drawn to go into a small shop filled with African art, clothing, shea and cocoa butter products from Africa. The man behind the counter was tall and had a mellow energy as he bobbed to the reggae music. I was looking around the shop and turned to say something to Amber and stopped and stared as he was massaging her hands. I looked for a moment to make sure she was comfortable then walked over. He showed us an article in the New York Times, he does this for everyone who comes into the store. So, I quickly took my turn when he offered. Massage Therapists hands are tired hands. He was massaging my hand and abruptly stopped. He stopped the song, midway through and scrolled down until he found the song he wanted, Firm and Strong by Popcaan (I read it on his phone). When it got to the chorus, “Jah, you make me firm and strong”, I said, “Amber we have our theme song”! We felt the flow of the Universe, messages confirming our choices. Saying, “yes, you are where you are supposed to be”.
When we arrived home we decided to pull our cards from Amber’s Spirit Animal Oracle deck. We both asked, “What do we need to know today for our best and highest good”. We mixed and pulled cards. We both pulled the Cow as our middle card. We were like, “Whhhhhaaaaatttt”. We couldn’t believe it. This is a card to remind you of abundance and prosperity; telling you to guard against having a scarcity mindset. It was a reminder to know that Universe wants you to have an abundant and fulfilling life, which is something we have been discussing between us for the past few months.
The next day after lunch we were walking back to the workshop. We were across the street from the building and had a few extra minutes. We decided to walk further up to the light instead of crossing there. We crossed and started down toward the workshop when we saw a cow statue outside of a store. We both were shocked and laughing. Amber said, “cow abundance!” Had one of the other workshop attendees not suggested to walk further and cross, we would not have seen our cow!
At the end of the workshop we said emotional goodbyes to everyone. We had all shared and loved deeply in two short days. We felt blessed and deeply connected. It felt magical. It was magical. We all could visibly see the change in one another.
As Amber and I walked back to our room, I looked up and noticed the street sign. It said, “Winners Circle”. We laughed some more. There were so many more signs and synchronicities over the weekend. More than a single blog post can tell. Snails, Cows, 10:10, Winners Circle, Out with the Old In with the New, Savings, Spiritual Teacher, 123, 555, 11:11, Willows and Oaks, Star Princesses…..these signs and symbols meant something to us, resonated with us. So many confirmations, enough to make me want to blog about it. One important thing I noticed, is that I wasn’t searching for signs, they were appearing! I think that is a significant and important detail. One is wishing to see a sign telling you what you want to hear. The other is a gift, a fun surprise, confirming where you are already at.
Synchronicity defined is the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection. We felt as though we were children delighting in life and the Divine playfully guiding us and encouraging us. “You are right where you are supposed to be. Play with me, explore, experience and expand.”
Ask for awareness to see the signs around you….and share your story with me 🙂
Below is a short video on Synchronicity with Deepak Chopra and pictures from the trip documenting some of my magical moments.
